Mission
The mission of the Squam Archives Center is to preserve and promote the unique heritage and the social and natural history of the Squam Lakes Region, and to make it available to the public for research and educational purposes.
Voices of Squam
The Voices of Squam oral history project includes interviews with over 50 people - both year-round and summer residents - over a 6-year period. Sadly a number are no longer with us. The intent was to gather memories leading to a composite sketch of the local history, the happenings, and some of the individuals who live and work around the Squam Lakes. We hope you enjoy these varied perspective on the Squam Region.
Let us save what remains: not by vaults and locks which fence them from the public eye and use in consigning them to the waste of time, but by such a multiplication of copies, as shall place them beyond the reach of accident.
